I had an art class in high school where the assignment was to draw a playing card I guess I was feeling extra that day because I decided that it'd be much more fun to make an entire deck of cards, so I did... and then I lost it. I was thinking about how much effort I put into making the cards just to lose them and I decided that the only way to rectify that wrong was to recreate the cards. Luckily I was able to find the original files I made all those years ago. I re-downloaded gimp so I could open the files and went to work giving the whole set a re-design that stayed true to the original idea while using my increased skills to make them even better.

After I finished I set a reminder in my calendar to re-design them again in 10 years. I don't know if future me will actually do that but it's fun to think about coming back to this later just to see how far it might go.

I volunteered to take pictures at LexSwing's Halloween dance this weekend, and the dancers gave me a challenge. I had high hopes when I started that quickly turned into one goal, just to get the photo mostly in focus. Photographing moving people is hard! ​
